Establishing a business with expected combined revenue of approximately $2.8 billion, Inc. completed its acquisition of LLP’s non-attest business.

Unveiled in July, the $2.3 billion deal’s closing was announced by the New York based-buyer Nov. 1.

According to CBIZ, the transaction makes it the largest full-service professional services advisor of its kind in the U.S. The company provides tax, advisory, benefits, insurance and technology services, primarily serving middle-market businesses.

Also based in New York, Marcum has Garden State offices in Marlton, Northfield, Saddle Brook and Tinton Falls. The firm’s East Hanover office recently made the move to Morristown, coinciding with new leadership at the outpost.

“We are pleased to have successfully closed the acquisition of Marcum, which represents a major milestone and new chapter for CBIZ, our people and our shareholders,” said CBIZ President and CEO Jerry Grisko. “Now, with over 10,000 team members, we will offer our clients an enhanced breadth of services and depth of expertise unmatched in our industries all aimed at helping them grow their business.

“We are excited to welcome the Marcum team to CBIZ and look forward to a bright future together,” Grisko added.

Concurrent with the closing, CBIZ CPAs acquired the attest business of Marcum, according to CBIZ’s announcement. The buyer, a national independent CPA firm, has had an Administrative Service Agreement with CBIZ for over 25 years.

In 2022, CBIZ acquired another national firm with a presence in New Jersey, Marks Paneth LLP.

That same year, Marcum also made its move to combine with Friedman LLP.
