One of New Jersey’s largest full-service law firms is celebrating its 100th anniversary.
Founded in 1926 by David Cole and Mendon Morrill, Hackensack-based Cole Schotz PC began as a small, two-man practice. It now has more than 200 attorneys.
The law firm spans nine offices in New Jersey, New York, Delaware, Texas, Maryland, Florida and Washington, D.C.
The nationally recognized firm handles areas including bankruptcy, corporate, environmental, employment, intellectual property, litigation, real estate and tax, trusts and estates.
Over the past century, the firm has advised generations of businesses, institutions and individuals. Cole Schotz has navigated legal challenges across industries while also adapting to the evolving legal landscape. As part of that mission, Cole Schotz says it has consistently invested in talent, technology and strategic growth.
In honor of the centennial, Cole Schotz will host a series of events and initiatives throughout the year. Planned activities include community service projects, firm celebrations and publications highlighting its history.
Commenting on the anniversary, Warren Usatine, co-managing shareholder and litigation department co-chair shared, “For 100 years, our firm has been built on the trust of our clients and the dedication of our people.”
These New Jersey businesses have been around for decades – and centuries – and are still thriving. Meet them here.
He went on to say, “This milestone reflects not only our history, but our unwavering commitment to providing thoughtful, practical, and results-driven counsel in an increasingly complex world.”

“As we celebrate this anniversary, we are equally focused on the future—continuing to evolve, embracing new challenges, and supporting our clients and communities for generations to come,” Kochman said.
