Danielle Sheer has been named to lead global legal and compliance teams, along with governance, commercial, intellectual property and privacy programs for Commvault.
Sheer was appointment as chief legal officer was announced by the Tinton Falls-based firm on Jan. 13.
Intelligent data services company Commvault operates across on-premises, cloud and SaaS environments.
“Data management, protection, and governance has never been more complex or more critical,” said President and Chief Executive Officer Sanjay Mirchandani in a prepared statement. “Danielle’s proven strategic leadership and deep experience managing complex global data privacy directives and cultures will enable us to set new standards and widen our lead as a trusted partner in this industry.”
Sheer previously served as general counsel for fintech Bottomline and at SaaS solutions provider Carbonite, according to her hiring announcement.
In her work, Sheer has scaled global operations for public technology companies and data privacy. She’s also led IPOs and other strategic transactions and integrations.

She serves on the board of directors of LinkSquares, the leadership board at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and on the steering committee for TechGC.
