CoreWeave acquires Weights & Biases to scale AI capabilities

CoreWeave completed a key acquisition of leading developer platform Weights & Biases, the company announced May 5.

The move marks the latest notable development from . The Jersey-born-and-based AI hyperscaler made its public debut on the Nasdaq Stock Market in late March.

“Today’s announcement accelerates our ability to power AI innovation with the scale, performance, and expertise that meets the demands of accelerated computing,” said Michael Intrator, co-founder and CEO of CoreWeave, in a press release. “It also builds on our recent IPO, creating new vectors for growth and broadened capabilities as a combined company.”

Intrator said CoreWeave is extremely impressed by what the team has achieved as the AI developer platform. He added that the strategic combination of the two organizations will help unleash the full potential of the world’s leading AI labs and enterprises.

“Their relentless innovative spirit, customer obsession, and engineering excellence are traits that CoreWeave has always prioritized and will continue to do so as we enable AI builders in the inference era,” said Intrator.

Empowering customers

The organizations say that, together, they plan to deliver the leading – purpose-built to develop, deploy and iterate AI faster.

“We expect that this combination will allow us to better serve our developers by accelerating investing in the Weights & Biases platform, maintaining our commitment to interoperability, and unlocking new valuable features by combining the hardware and software layers of the new AI tech stack,” said Lukas Biewald, co-founder of Weights & Biases.

Biewald said he looks forward to combining the two organizations’ talented teams and complementary strengths – as well as for what they will accomplish by joining forces.

“Together with CoreWeave, we believe we can empower customers to realize the potential of AI,” he said.
