Illinois-based Crate and Barrel, a leading U.S. home furnishings retail chain, has signed a lease with New York City”s Rockefeller Group Development for a 650,000-sq.-ft. build-to-suit distribution center complex in Cranbury.To be located at the Rockefeller Group Foreign Trade Zone, the project comprises two buildings: a 300,000-sq.-ft. “furniture” building and a 375,000-sq.-ft. “tabletop” building for housewares distribution. The transaction also provides Crate and Barrel 275,000-sq.-ft. for future expansion. Located at Exit 8A of the New Jersey Turnpike, Rockefeller Group Foreign Trade Zone/8A is a 150-acre warehouse/distribution park offering 2 million sq. ft. of build-to-suit opportunities for clients wishing to take advantage of foreign trade zone status and the park”s location.
