Chiesa Shahinian & Giantomasi PC is launching an alternative dispute resolution practice.

The Roseland-based law firm introduced the group in an Aug. 8 press release. Joseph Dickson, a former federal magistrate judge for the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, and Nicholas Grieco, a member of the litigation group and experienced mediator, chair the new group.

In this interdisciplinary group, team members serve as arbitrators, mediators and neutral evaluators. They handle proceedings involving U.S. and international parties, as well wide-ranging matters, including:

  • Antitrust claims
  • Banking and finance-related disputes
  • Business and contractual disputes
  • Civil rights and employment matters
  • Construction-related, property damage, and personal injury disputes
  • Consumer-related disputes
  • Corporate and securities matters
  • Environmental matters
  • Franchise-related issues
  • Patent; trademark and intellectual property claims
  • Labor and employment disputes
  • Multiparty, multidistrict, and class action litigation
  • Real estate-related matters
  • State and municipal matters
  • Trusts, estates and family law disputes

The ADR group draws upon the experience of former federal and state court judges, former federal prosecutors, trial lawyers, transactional attorneys, county and municipal counsel, and in-house counsel, who work closely with the parties to evaluate the risks they face, understand their business objectives, avoid contention and resolve their disputes.

At , the firm is well-versed in the strategic use of ADR as a component of litigation practice and routinely advises on, negotiates and drafts resolution provisions for inclusion in contracts. Parties have the option to meet in person, virtually or through hybrid sessions.

Grieco said, “We believe that there are no intractable problems, only challenges begging for solutions. Pulling together the resources of this diverse group of practitioners will provide solutions in a wide variety of matters.”
