FIFA announced the draw for the FIFA Club World Cup 2025, set for next summer, a year ahead of the FIFA World Cup 26.

MetLife Stadium was selected in September to host the final of the club tournament, which features the top 32 club teams in the world. Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field was also selected as a host site for the Club World Cup 2025.

The tournament takes place June 14 to July 13, when East Rutherford will host the final match.

On Dec. 7, FIFA revealed the draw, dates of the matches, and just how many each stadium will host. MetLife Stadium will host nine matches total, including the two semifinal matches, one of the quarter-finals and the final. Lincoln Financial Field will serve as the site for eight matches, including one of the quarter-finals.

The 2025 Club World Cup will serve as a dress rehearsal, of sorts, for the following year’s World Cup, the world’s largest sporting event – with huge crowds expected to come see their favorite club teams square off. In 2026, MetLife Stadium will host eight matches, including the final; Lincoln Financial Field will host six.

Economic kick

The back-to-back tournaments will provide a major economic boost for the areas surrounding the two stadiums in North and South Jersey, with programming planned throughout the state to allow all businesses the chance to take advantage of this unique opportunity.

“The paths for the 32 teams have been set and we now know what time and where, among 12 top-class stadiums, we will enjoy the 48 exciting group-stage clashes,” said FIFA President Gianni Infantino. “Together with another 15 matches in the knockout stage, this match schedule set 63 dates in the diary of every football fan – those living in the U.S., traveling from abroad to these beautiful cities to support their clubs, or following live and for free from every corner of the world via DAZN and FIFA+.”

“This match schedule is much more than a list of thrilling fixtures involving the best clubs in the world – it shows that club football can, and will be, truly global,” said Infantino. “Let’s take it to the world.”
