Specialty discount chain Five Below is coming to Watchung.
After signing a lease agreement for a 10,000-square-foot-space at Blue Star Shopping Center, the brand expects to open soon, according to the property’s exclusive leasing and managing agent, Levin Management Corp.
Founded 23 years ago in a Philadelphia suburb, Five Below offers trend-driven merchandise at low prices across several categories, such as fashion, décor, sports, arts & crafts, celebrations and candy. Its brick-and-mortar footprint of more than 1,800 stores across the U.S. includes 64 locations in New Jersey.
Designed for tweens, teens and value-conscious shoppers, the concept is a powerful traffic driver, Levin noted.
LMC Senior Leasing Representative E.J. Moawad negotiated the deal on behalf of property ownership. “Five Below is one of the most active and successful retailers in its category, and we’re excited to add this location to Blue Star’s tenant mix,” Moawad said. “The company’s expansion into this center reflects the strength of the market and Blue Star’s appeal to top national brands.”
Five Below joins a lineup at the 420,000-square-foot retail hub along Route 22 that also includes a brand-new ShopRite, Planet Fitness, KidStrong, Kohl’s, Marshalls, Dollar Tree, Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa, and Five Guys.
According to Levin, it plans to announce additional deals with other national retailers soon.
