Discount fashion chain Nordstrom Rack is continuing to expand across New Jersey.
The retailer signed a lease for a 24,500-square-foot space at Deptford Town Center in Deptford. According to Nordstrom Rack, the store is scheduled to open by fall 2026 as its 11th in-state location.
A sister brand of luxury department store Nordstrom, Nordstrom Rack offers discounts of up to 70% on apparel, accessories, beauty, shoes and home goods.
The Seattle-based company boasts 382 stores nationwide; 276 of those locations are Nordstrom Rack outposts. Amid rising demand for the discount concept, the retailer continues to grow Nordstrom Rack with the addition of nearly two dozen locations this year. Locally, it recently opened at Manalapan Commons in Manalapan.
Nordstrom Rack President Gemma Lionello said in a statement, “We look forward to being a part of the Deptford community and serving our customers with an amazing offering of great brands at great prices. We’re excited to grow our footprint in the Philadelphia market and introduce new customers to the Nordstrom experience.”
Within New Jersey, Nordstrom operates four namesake stores and 10 off-price locations. The company generates more than 1,600 jobs statewide.
Nordstrom Rack is the latest retailer that committed to open at the long-vacant Deptford Town Center.
After sitting empty for two years, Pittsburgh-based MSP Development acquired the property this past spring for $13.5 million. Previous occupants included Bed Bath & Beyond, Christmas Tree Shops, Buybuy Baby and Harmon Face Values.
New ownership recently began renovating and revitalizing the site to make way for a new group of tenants. According to The Cherry Hill Sun, Aldi, Blinds To Go and Tractor Supply Co. are under contract to open in time for the 2025 holiday season. Meanwhile Nordstrom Rack, First Watch, Aspen Dental and Chase Bank will do so next year.
Mitchol Pappan, owner of MSP Developments, said, “We’re excited to welcome Nordstrom Rack to Deptford, NJ, as the newest addition to the vibrant Deptford Town Center. This high-visibility, high-traffic location is a natural fit for a brand known for quality and style. We’re confident Nordstrom Rack will not only thrive here but become a long-standing favorite in the community for years to come.”
