When it comes to companies that consumers feel have most given back to their communities, 13 are based right here in New Jersey, according to a recently released ranking from Forbes.
To determine its third annual “Best Brands for Social Impact” list, the publication partnered with data insights company HundredX to get a pulse on consumer perceptions of a brand’s values, social stances, sustainability and community support.
The partners gathered feedback with a wide-ranging online survey conducted between March 2024 and February 2025. The questionnaire engaged 165,000 consumers. It asked them to rate brands and products in more than a dozen categories, including quality, value, customer service and social impact.
More than 4.4 million consumer ratings across 3,900 brands informed the final list of 300 honorees, according to Forbes.
Commenting on the project, HundredX CEO Rob Pace said the brands with the best customer feedback embed social impact initiatives into their business in a way that resonates with the public.
“It’s not some side hobby, not some PR thing, but built into the product, built into what you do, and relevant to your business,” he said.
