24 Garden State companies make Most Trustworthy Companies in America list for 2025

To recognize the organizations that have earned the trust of consumers, employees and investors, Newsweek unveiled the Most Trustworthy Companies in America for 2025.
Compiled in partnership with data firm Statista and released March 26, the fourth annual list covers 23 industries and ranks 700 companies.
In New Jersey, 24 firms were deemed among the most trustworthy in the nation.
Additionally, Camden-based The Campbell’s Co. was the top-ranking firm in its individual industry. The food giant, which rebranded from its Campbell Soup Co. moniker in 2024, nabbed the top spot on the inaugural list in 2022, as well, and has been included every year. Its brand portfolio includes Campbell’s, Cape Cod, Chunky, Goldfish, Kettle Brand, Lance, Pepperidge Farm, Prego, Rao’s, V8 and others.
“This recognition reflects the work of the more than 14,000 Campbell’s employees who earn trust everyday through the food we make and the actions we take,” Mick Beekhuizen, president and CEO of The Campbell’s Co., told NJBIZ in a statement.
To determine the findings, Newsweek and Statista surveyed 25,000 U.S. residents and factored in a “social listening” analysis of 304,000 online mentions. The surveys were weighted more heavily in the calculations.
Eligible firms were U.S.-headquartered public and private companies with at least $500 million in annual revenue.
The ranked companies demonstrated a sustained commitment to ethical business practices, transparency and stakeholder engagement, Newsweek noted.
“The ability to cultivate and maintain trust across multiple stakeholders is an invaluable asset for any company,” Josh Smith, senior director growth and strategic partnerships at Newsweek, said in a statement accompanying the list.
In introducing this year’s list and why companies should take heed, Newsweek Editor in Chief Jennifer Cunningham cited a PwC survey that found that while 90% of executives believed their companies were highly trusted by customers, only 30% of consumers would say the same.
The Garden State has improved steadily over the list’s four years, growing from 13 companies named in the inaugural ranking to 24 this year.
