The Campbell’s Co.

After Marc Clouse stepped down as president and CEO of The Campbell’s Co. to lead the Washington Commanders NFL franchise, Beekhuizen took the helm of the Camden-based soups and snacks giant.

As of Feb. 1, Beekhuizen is the 15th CEO in the company’s 155-year-old history. He arrived at Campbell’s in 2019 as chief financial officer and was appointed three years later as president of the meals & beverages division. Valued at $5.3 billion, that unit commands more than half of the company’s annual net sales through brands like Prego, Pacific, V8 and Campbell.

Prior to joining the company, Beekhuizen spent more than three years as executive vice president and chief financial officer at Chobani, where he led the improvement of the company’s capital structure and played a key role in its growth and expansion. He also spent 13 years with Goldman Sachs in roles including managing director in the merchant banking division.

In stepping into the new role as Campbell’s president and CEO, Beekhuizen said, “It is a tremendous honor to have been selected by the Board to lead this iconic company. I am ener-gized by the opportunity to work with the Campbell’s team to accelerate the successful strategy that has led to our strong business performance and industry-leading employee engagement.”

The leadership transition comes on the heels of several big changes at Campbell’s. In March 2024, the company completed a $2.7 billion acquisition of Sovos Brands, the parent company of Rao’s sauces, soups and pastas and Michael Angelo’s frozen entrees. Campbell’s said Beekhuizen played a “key role” in that deal and that it not only “elevated and strengthened the division’s portfolio,” but also “set a new growth trajectory for dependable and profitable growth.”

As it continues to expand beyond its traditional business into snacks, sauces and beverages, the company officially rebranded in December 2024 from Campbell Soup Co. to the Camp-bell’s Co.
