Under Labozzetta’s guidance as president and CEO, Provident Bank has achieved significant milestones, including the landmark merger with Lakeland Bank in May 2024. His strategic foresight and ability to navigate complex financial landscapes was reflected in this merger, which created New Jersey’s first “super community” banking franchise.
Even as the bank grows, though, Labozzetta has prioritized deep customer relationships through tailored solutions, ensuring that Provident retains a community feel. That commitment has been demonstrated time and again, including in September 2024 when the bank awarded — as part of its Community Partnership Program — $88,000 in grants to nine New Jersey nonprofits that focus on community development, economic empowerment, financial literacy, and education and support for housing and homeownership in low and moderate-income communities.
This initiative and others reflect Labozzeta’s philosophy, that a bank can do good and still be profitable: “By supporting charitable endeavors and participating in volunteer initiatives and educational programs, the bank creates a positive impact and reinforces its commitment, further attracting customers who value community engagement.”
