Tipsy Tie Dye opens second location at American Dream

A -born venue that combines tie-dye experiences with social events is adding a second outpost.

The Tipsy Tie Dye expansion is located at American Dream in East Rutherford. The studio-style lounge allows guests to design and customize their own hoodies, t-shirts, tote bags, scarves and hats while enjoying a relaxed, social environment.

Following its recent grand opening, the spot is open daily for flexible walk-in experiences. It also hosts private events, like birthday parties, family celebrations, team-building activities, corporate gatherings and special occasions.

At , guests can choose from a selection of apparel and accessories, explore various folding and design techniques, and create personalized pieces using the brand’s signature dye bar that features an array of vibrant color combinations.

For those 21 and older, the experience is enhanced with a selection of wine, beer, and cocktails, according to the store.

Siblings Katie and Kevin Tague started Tipsy Tie Dye eight years ago as a pop-up concept at local bars and restaurants. The duo opened their first permanent storefront in 2021 at 155 1st St. in Hoboken.

The co-founders told NJBIZ that “expanding – especially at a landmark destination like – feels incredibly meaningful because it allows us to continue building something joyful and community-driven right here at home.”

Katie Tague said, “Tipsy Tie Dye started as a way to bring people together through creativity, nostalgia, and fun — and seeing it grow from a small family-founded concept in Hoboken into a destination experience at American Dream has been incredibly surreal for us.”

“We’ve watched guests celebrate birthdays, first dates, reunions, team outings, and huge milestones here, and that human connection is really at the heart of what we built,” she added.

Kevin Tague shared, “We always wanted Tipsy Tie Dye to feel bigger than just an activity. It’s about creating an experience where people can unplug a little, make something with their hands, laugh with friends or family, and leave with something uniquely theirs. American Dream gave us the opportunity to bring that vision to a much larger audience in a really exciting way.”

Commenting on the latest addition at the Meadowlands megamall, American Dream Chief Marketing Officer Adam Petrick said, “This unique attraction offers guests of all ages the opportunity to create something memorable while enjoying an experience they won’t find anywhere else.”
