As president of Bank of America New Jersey, Garofalo has been a driving force behind critical large-scale investments within the state. The bank recently signed a lease for nearly 550,000 square feet at BGO’s Newport Tower in Jersey City – the largest commercial lease in New Jersey in the last 10 years – signaling a strong commitment to its economic growth.
Underlining the huge goal that New Jersey scored as a host of the FIFA World Cup 2026, Bank of America is sponsoring the World Cup as FIFA’s first-ever global banking partner. Garofalo says he looks forward to being a steward of the economic impact that the World Cup will bring to New Jersey. He also drives “Responsible Growth” for the bank’s eight lines of business.
In New Jersey, the institution’s 11,000 employees have contributed over 502,000 hours volunteering with key nonprofits, with the shared goal of creating meaningful, lasting change across the state. Since 2019, the bank has provided $34 million in grants and matching gifts that strengthen New Jersey’s broader community vitality.
