Two of the state’s most respected business leaders who serve as president and CEO (Medina) and chairman (De La Hoz) – leading the Statewide Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of New Jersey, the Garden State’s largest chamber.
The organization, founded in 1989, represents some 125,000 Hispanic-owned businesses that contribute over $90 billion to the state’s economy.
The chamber, with De La Hoz and Medina’s leadership, are on the frontlines of the major issues facing Hispanic-owned businesses in the state – such as the recent Disparity Study, capitalizing on the upcoming World Cup 2026, and much more.
“While the findings are stark, the Governor’s Office has shown unwavering partnership from day one, committing to meaningful collaboration and sustained efforts,” said Medina during a roundtable convened by Gov. Phil Murphy on the Disparity Study. “This joint approach aims to create a level playing field, drive increased competition, and ultimately secure greater savings for the state.”
In October, SHCCNJ struck a new partnership with New Jersey City University to create new educational and professional opportunities for NJCU students and the His-panic business community; as well as facilitating the expansion of the chamber’s Hispanic Business Hub to the school’s Jersey City campus.
“Our partnership with NJCU is a milestone that amplifies our commitment to the Hispanic entrepreneurs we serve, from the New York tri-state area to a global market-place,” said De La Hoz. “With NJCU, we gain a unique platform to elevate business and educational opportunities, creating a ripple effect of growth and success for Hispanic-owned businesses and future leaders.”
