Stevens Institute of Technology

Farvardin has served as president of Stevens Institute of Technology since 2011. Under his leadership, the institution has been recognized as a cornerstone of the region’s technology and innovation landscape. The numbers reflect this, with freshman applications up 294% and graduate applications jumping 382% since his ascension.

Stevens also has a 90% graduation rate, compared to a national average of 50%. In spring 2024, Farvardin was selected as recipient of the prestigious Ellis Island Medal of Honor, which is awarded annually to those who have shown an outstanding commitment to serving the United States.

He oversaw the launch of Stevens’ College of Professional Education, a new academic unit created to grow the university’s online programs by providing flexible learning opportunities for working professionals and upskilling the technology-focused labor force.

Farvardin has also expanded partnerships with the community and industry of the region, notably through the spring launch of NJ FAST, a Strategic Innovation Center that supports research and development, innovation, and entrepreneurship in the financial and insurance technology sectors. Farvardin continues to build on the university’s momentum, ensuring Stevens remains a hub for innovation for generations of students to come.
