Since 2003, Silverstein has served as CEO of Egg Harbor-based Spencer Spirit Holdings Inc., the parent company of seasonal pop-up shop Spirit Halloween and novelty retailer Spencer’s. With 1,525 seasonal locations in strip centers and malls in 2024, Spirit Halloween has experienced tremendous growth, solidifying its position as the go-to destination for all things Halloween. For more than four decades, it has created immersive and interactive experiences for shoppers, complete with a unique and vast assortment of costumes and accessories for infants, toddlers, children, tweens, teens and adults, along with exclusive décor and animatronics.

While Spirit Halloween isn’t the only temporary store to set up for Halloween, its network of seasonal shops is certainly the biggest — serving the $12 billion-plus Halloween consumer market.
