A member of the executive committee, Glover is global head of urban innovation for Audible. Since joining the Newark-based company in 2020, she’s helped launch several successful initiatives to expand the anchor institution’s community and economic impact. That includes Newark Working Kitchens, which delivered more than 1.6 million meals from 2020-2024 as well as generated over $16 million in economic activity in the local restaurant industry.
Also launched during the pandemic, the Newark Artist Collaboration, which features public art pieces from local artists and art groups installed throughout downtown — including at Audible’s 1 Washington Park headquarters.
Announced in 2023, Audible’s Business Attraction Program gained traction last year. The initiative targets startups with at least 10 employees, at the seed or Series A stage, that seek to expand or relocate to Newark. By offering relocation assistance, capital for new leases, and stipends for employees – inspired by Audible’s own “Live Local” effort – the Business Attraction Program aims to increase local spending, preserve and create jobs in Newark, repopulate vacant commercial and office spaces, and accelerate the local innovation ecosystem. And it’s well on its way. And at least two participants – Equal Space and pocstock –celebrated grand openings last year.
