A cannabis dispensary has opened at the Meadowlands.
Located at 300 Washington Ave. in Carlstadt, Herb Haus is a family-operated store focused on quality, education and community engagement.
In addition to a curated selection of premium cannabis across flower, vapes, pre-rolls, edibles and concentrates, the recreational storefront’s staff provides tailored guidance so customers can navigate products with confidence.
Since its February grand opening, Herb Haus noted it has become “a convenient stop for event-goers and tourists alike.”
The dispensary is within steps of popular destinations like MetLife Stadium, Meadowlands Flea Market, Meadowlands racetrack, American Dream mall and the New Meadowlands Flea Market. The launch also comes as New Jersey prepares to host the FIFA World Cup at MetLife Stadium this summer.
At the dispensary, founder Joey Kannegiesser works alongside family members who have experience in operations, administration and construction.
He credits their support in helping him transform the former fast-food spot into a modern, accessible retail space designed with customer comfort in mind.
After experiencing the positive effects of cannabis firsthand, Kannegiesser sought to create a community-centered dispensary where individuals could explore the plant in a safe, informed and supportive environment. “At Herb Haus, cannabis is more than just a product; it’s a pathway to wellness, balance, and connection,” he said.
Kannegiesser was awarded a social equity license from the New Jersey Cannabis Regulatory Commission in May 2022. He also secured support through the New Jersey Economic Development Authority’s Cannabis Equity Grant Program to help start his cannabusiness.
Additionally, California-based cannabis hedge fund Poseidon Investment Management provided financing for Herb Haus. It has invested in other New Jersey dispensaries, including BLKBRN in Highland Park and Dogwood Green in West Orange.
Herb Haus is open Monday to Saturday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday, noon to 8 p.m., for walk-in and drive-thru customers. The store also offers the ability to order ahead online, as well as a loyalty program.
