Holmdel’s iCIMS announces layoffs

The event to celebrate “Hacktoberfest” drew 500 attendees, from students to professionals, for a day of hacking and workshops. Fourteen winners were named during the celebration of open-source software, with the $3,000 first prize going to three graduate students from Stevens Institute of Technology for their project that uses images from an individual’s camera to identify potential risk for eye disease.

A leading technology firm and anchor tenant at Bell Works in Holmdel recently laid off nearly 70 employees.

iCIMS announced the job cuts Aug. 1, as well as the subleasing of some of its space at Bell Works. Inspired by Somerset Development’s “metroburb” serves as the global headquarters for the cloud-based human resources and recruiting software company, which has more than 1,000 employees and seven offices worldwide.

In 2017, iCIMS made headlines when it became one of the first anchor tenants in Holmdel.

Creative space

The new Bell Theater at Bell Works began welcoming audiences at the start of May. The ground-floor venue hosts arts programming including professional theater, dance, concerts and films. See more here.

The company confirmed the layoffs to NJBIZ – pointing to the changing trends in technology and the need for companies like iCIMS to adapt its strategy to address the needs of the market, the customers and the business.

The layoffs are part of a companywide transformation that includes the restructuring of some teams and optimization of aspects of the business, resulting in iCIMS parting ways with these team members in addition to providing resources and separation benefits to those impacted employees.

iCIMS is refocusing its efforts and investments on areas such as R&D and innovation, AI, customer experience and more – which the company says will allow it to continue building its category-leading talent acquisition technology. The company brought on a new CEO, Jason Edelboim, in December 2023.
