Nutley’s The Hudson Rose to close – temporarily – for ‘saucy’ rebrand

Nearly a year after joining the dining scene in Nutley, is preparing to temporarily shut its doors to undergo a .

After the restaurant’s final day of service July 26, it will reopen later this summer with a concept that’s “fresh, exciting and just a little bit saucy,” according to owner .

The Hudson Rose became known locally for its elevated American cuisine and expertly crafted cocktails. Franklin Steakhouse previously occupied the 4,000-square-foot space at 238 Franklin Ave.

, The Hudson Rose’s chef and Food Network “Chopped” champion, and Eric Binder, the restaurant’s general manager are spearheading the forthcoming update.

According to GAC Hospitality, the duo has “been working behind-the-scenes on fresh ideas for months and they’re thrilled to unveiled it soon.”

The Harlow Room at the restaurant will continue to operate as usual, the owners said. The private event space can host up to 200 guests.

A toast to a neighbor

More details about the concept will be revealed in coming weeks. In the meantime, the restaurant is encouraging diners to visit The Hudson Rose for one last toast and a final taste of the dishes and drinks that made it a neighborhood favorite.

Additionally, The Hudson Rose will share information on last-chance wine pricing and other specials via its social media accounts.

GAC Hospitality opened its first restaurant, Point Pleasant casual dining spot Pop’s Corner, in summer 2023.
