Woodcliff Lake-based Ingersoll-Rand (NYSE: IR), a diversified industrial firm, said on Tuesday it has acquired a 19.5% equity stake in Tavant Technologies, a provider of e-commerce products and solutions for enhancing market channels, including dealer and distribution networks. Terms were not disclosed.Ingersoll-Rand said it will employ Tavant”s technologies for its channels in all its markets, beginning with its construction equipment and air solutions businesses. “Through Tavant we can provide powerful technologies that will enable our channel partners to greatly enhance their marketing programs and resources,” said Herbert L. Henkel, Ingersoll-Rand”s president and chief executive officer.Ingersoll-Rand is an industrial equipment and components manufacturer. The company”s diverse product portfolio encompasses leading industrial and commercial brands such as Bobcat, Schlage, Club Car, Hussmann, Ingersoll-Rand, Thermo King and Torrington.
