The basics:

Seastreak announced new direct between Manhattan and Point Pleasant Beach that will launch for summer 2026. The route gives travelers a new weekend option to reach the Jersey Shore, without driving.

The seasonal route will operate nonstop between the Battery Maritime Building in Lower Manhattan and Point Pleasant Beach. Estimates put travel time at about 75 minutes. Service will run on select dates in 2026 from June 19–Aug. 9, along with Labor Day weekend service from Sept. 4–7.

The schedule includes:

  • Friday departures from New York City at 11:30 a.m.
  • Sunday return trips from Point Pleasant Beach at 1:30 p.m.
  • Additional Friday 1 p.m. departure from Point Pleasant Beach to Manhattan

Seastreak is best known for its commuter ferry routes linking towns, including Highlands, Atlantic Highlands and Belford, with Manhattan. The company also operates seasonal and leisure trips, including New York Mets and New York Yankees game-day service and more.

“This is one service that we’ve wanted to provide for quite some time,” said Seastreak President James Barker. “Getting from Manhattan to the Jersey Shore in about an hour and fifteen minutes changes the equation entirely.

This is a direct trip from Lower Manhattan to the Shore with no stops, and there really isn’t another option that matches it in terms of simplicity and travel time.
James Barker, president, Seastreak

“This is a direct trip from Lower Manhattan to the Shore with no stops, and there really isn’t another option that matches it in terms of simplicity and travel time.”

Seastreak notes ferry reservations cover transportation only and do not include beach access or beach passes.

Gateway shore service

Barker said Seastreak selected Point Pleasant Beach due in part to its status as a gateway to nearby shore communities.

“Point Pleasant Beach is a great destination in its own right, but it also opens up the entire stretch of shore towns nearby,” Barker noted. “From Manasquan to Bay Head, this gives people a clean, direct way to access some of the best spots on the coast without dealing with traffic.”

The ferry will arrive near the Point Pleasant Beach waterfront and boardwalk district. It will sit within walking distance of destinations including Captain Bill’s Landing and Red’s Lobster Pot.

Barker also acknowledged local partners who helped bring the service together, including Bill Cleary and the team at Captain Bill’s Landing, along with Carol Vaccaro and the Point Pleasant Chamber of Commerce.

“We appreciate Bill Cleary and the team at Captain Bill’s Landing for making this work on the ground in Point Pleasant Beach. It is a great arrival point, and Red’s Lobster Pot is as good a first stop as you can ask for,” said Barker. “We also want to thank Carol Vaccaro and the Point Pleasant Chamber of Commerce for helping move this forward. This took coordination and local support, and we are grateful for it.”

“We’re excited to get this service started this summer and to see how it grows from here,” he added. “There is real opportunity to expand and create more direct connections between New York City and the Jersey Shore, and this is a strong first step in that direction.”
