Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant is closing one of its two New Jersey locations.

In addition to shuttering the outpost at in Voorhees, the Exton, Pa.-based chain’s spots in Newark, Del., and Philadelphia will go dark as part of “ongoing efforts to adapt to a changing business landscape,” according to a Sept. 10 press release.

Founded in 1996, Iron Hill is considered one of the most successful restaurant and craft brewery concepts in the U.S. Following this week’s closures, the chain’s footprint consists of 16 locations.

Its remaining New Jersey restaurant is in Maple Shade.

Iron Hill CEO Mark Kirke described the decision as difficult, but said it was part of a broader strategic vision.

“While we are closing a few locations, this is truly part of a larger growth story — we are evolving, strengthening our brand, and positioning Iron Hill for long-term success,” he said in a statement.

Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant has named Mark Kirke as CEO.

“We’re proud of the strong relationships we’ve built with our guests over the years and incredibly grateful for their loyalty. None of this would be possible without our dedicated teammates, who have made Iron Hill a place where great beer, great food, and genuine hospitality come together,” said Kirke, adding, “We look forward to welcoming you to enjoy any of our other 16 open restaurants.”

The move comes about eight months after Kirke assumed the CEO post. The restaurant industry veteran took over from Chris Westcott, who helmed Iron Hill since late 2021.

Prior to Iron Hill, Kirke’s 30 years of experience included positions with industry giants such as P.F. Chang’s China Bistro, Shrimp Basket, Hillstone Restaurant Group and Artistry Restaurants.
