Italian gourmet chocolate and gelato manufacturer Venchi is opening its second boutique in New Jersey.

Coming soon to Westfield Garden State Plaza in Paramus, the shop – also known as a ChocoGelateria – will offer decadent chocolate, gelato, hot chocolate and crepes, all of which incorporate 100% natural ingredients.

The Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield-owned mall location will also be the first and only store to have the brand’s Chocoviar Wall, a display made up entirely of flavors from one of Venchi’s most iconic collections – Chocoviar, which is a spin on “chocolate caviar” and features cocoa pearls made from 75% Cuor di Cacao (heart of chocolate).

In operation since 1878, the company has developed more than 350 chocolate recipes and 90 flavors of gelato that are sold in its over 175 boutiques in more than 70 countries. Within New Jersey, Venchi launched a location in the Mall at Short Hills two years ago. 

Along with a variety of Venchi’s imaginative chocolates and signature gelato and gelato shakes, the ChocoGelateria will offer authentic Italian coffees, seasonal items, hot chocolates and crepes made with the brand’s hazelnut spread dispensed from a chocolate foundation. It will also have have an extensive selection of gifts and more than 50 chocolates to pick-and-mix.

All offerings are natural with no coloring agents, preservatives or palm oils and instead made using noble fats, like olive oil and cocoa butter. Sweets are also gluten-free and some are vegan friendly, according to Venchi.

Venchi’s arrival at Westfield Garden State Plaza comes as part of a larger U.S. expansion effort that will bring the chocolatier’s footprint to 15 locations nationwide by the end of 2023.

Of the six stores opening this year, three will be in malls owned by Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield, including Westfield Garden State Plaza.

Located on Level 1 near Nieman Marcus, Venchi ChocoGelateria is slate to open between late July and early August in Paramus, according to the shopping center.

After noting the positive consumer response to the company’s growing retail footprint, the brand’s chief commercial officer, Mark Ellis, said, “As a result, we are very excited to partner with Westfield who have placed us in their top locations across the U.S., allowing Venchi to reach consumers seeking an authentic Italian chocolate and gelato experience.”
