Jersey Mike’s Subs raised a record-breaking amount for charity in March as part of its 15th annual “Month of Giving” campaign.

This year, the Manasquan-based fast casual sandwich chain’s U.S. locations collected over $30 million on behalf of more than 200 nonprofit entities, including food banks and hospitals.

Along with accepting donations throughout the month, Jersey Mike’s more than 3,000 restaurants gave 100% of sales and profits from its March 26 “Day of Giving” initiative to the partnering charities.

Following this year’s campaign, the Month of Giving effort has raised more than $143 million since its 2011 launch. In 2024, the national fundraising total was $25 million.

Peter Cancro, the company’s founder and chief executive officer, said in a statement, “Together, we’re making a difference in people’s lives thanks to all of you.”

In addition to the 15th anniversary of the Month of Giving initiative, 2025 also marks 50 years since Cancro bought his first sub shop at the age of 17. Now it’s one of the fastest-growing quick service brands in the country.

The continuing expansion comes as private equity giant Blackstone recently completed its acquisition of Jersey Mike’s. Under the reportedly $8 billion-valued deal, Cancro will maintain “a significant equity stake” and continue to lead the business he spent nearly five decades building.

Blackstone has said the influx of cash will help the franchise accelerate its growth across and beyond the U.S. market. The company also highlighted Jersey Mike’s “continued investment in technology and digital transformation.”
