Longtime Prudential exec joins Delta Dental

and Connecticut appointed John Rosero as senior vice president and , the Parsippany-headquartered benefits company announced Jan. 22. 

In his new position, Rosero oversees Delta Dental’s legal and compliance functions as well as the organization’s government affairs operations. 

Rosero stepped into the role in December, following Paul Di Maio’s elevation to president and CEO.

Di Maio had also held the title of chief administrative officer, in addition to senior vice president and general counsel. He took the reins from Dennis Wilson, who had served as Delta Dental’s president and CEO since 2013. 

Meet the new GC 

Rosero joins Delta Dental after a 27-year career with Prudential Financial, according to his LinkedIn profile. He held various leadership positions at the Newark-based company, most recently serving as vice president and chief compliance officer for U.S. businesses.  

“John brings a wealth of experience navigating complex regulatory landscapes to the organization and strategic vision to our growth and innovation strategies. His distinguished track record in legal and transformation leadership, combined with expertise in compliance, risk management, and corporate governance within the insurance industry, will be a critical asset to Delta Dental,” Di Maio said in a statement. 

Rosero added that he was excited to join the company “at this pivotal time of transformation and growth.” 

Rosero earned his Ph.D. in global affairs from Rutgers University, a Master of Laws in corporation law from New York University School of Law, and a J.D. from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Law. He also holds certifications in regulatory compliance and AI and is involved with various industry organizations.
