MamaMancini’s, a leading supplier of Italian-style deli food, is as part of an effort to better reflect its transition into a one-stop shop for prepared foods.

In an Aug. 1 announcement, the East Rutherford-based company unveiled its new name – Mama’s Creations Inc. – along with a new ticker symbol, “MAMA,” on the Nasdaq Capital Market.

The business also launched a refreshed website for corporate and investor relations featuring a streamlined design, improved functionality and intuitive access to essential shareholder information.

Adam Michaels, chairman and chief executive officer of Mama’s Creations, described the new corporate name and online presence as “important steps” in the company’s journey to become a “national deli solutions company.”

In a statement, Michaels said, “This bold new brand embraces our leadership in fresh, clean and easy to prepare meals, while allowing our identity to expand into a broader array of new, in-demand international and differentiated deli foods products for grocers nationwide. While the consumer-facing Italian foods brand MamaMancini’s will remain unchanged, this wider strategic focus will further enable us to drive incremental SKUs into our grocer customers.”

After debuting its Mama’s Creation portfolio earlier this year at a tradeshow, the company has been busy developing marketing strategies and brand voice, as well as conducting consumer research and analysis, to expand the offering further, according to chief marketing officer Lauren Sella.

"While the consumer facing Italian foods brand MamaMancini's will remain unchanged, this wider strategic focus will further enable us to drive incremental SKUs into our grocer customers," said Mama's Creations Chairman and CEO Adam Michaels.

“We are now launching new products under the Mama’s Creations family of brands including General Tso’s Chicken, vegetarian Chana Masala, Beef Fajitas, Korean-Inspired Meatballs and more,” said Sella, a former Mondelez International executive who joined the company in June.

“Looking ahead, we see tremendous growth potential for our company under the Mama’s Creations name, with a growing lineup of highly incremental products under a core platform brand. As we continue to scale into a national one-stop-shop deli solutions provider, our family of brands will remain focused on clean, affordable and easy-to-prepare meal solutions for consumers,” she went on to say.

Founded in 2010, Mama’s Creations makes and distributes all-natural beef, turkey, chicken and pork meatballs, as well as other similar Italian products.

The company has more than 45,000 product placements nationally in grocery,  club and convenience stores, including Albertsons, Costco, FoodTown, Hy Vee, Key Foods, Kings, Kroger, Publix, Sam’s Club, Whole Foods, ShopRite, Stop & Shop, The Fresh Market, Safeway and King Kullen.

The name change comes about a month after Mama’s Creations unveiled plans to acquire Chef Inspirational Foods Inc., a fresh and frozen prepared-foods business on Long Island, N.Y.

After taking a 24% minority interest in CIF in June 2022, Mama’s Creations retained an option to purchase the remaining stake within 12 months, which it chose to exercise late last month and announced plans to purchase 76% interest for $3.65 million.
