The Meadowlands Chamber and Convention Visitors Bureau’s Mdest25! will take place April 10. This year, the annual event will provide attendees with an update on the FIFA 2026 World Cup.
The conference at the Meadowlands Chamber and CVB Headquarters in Lyndhurst comes at a critical time, as planning and preparations for the world’s biggest sporting event ratchet up. The Meadowlands – and New Jersey – will occupy the epicenter of the action, hosting eight matches at MetLife Stadium (New York New Jersey Stadium during the tournament), including the Final game July 19, 2026.
Projections anticipate the World Cup will bring more than $2 billion in economic activity as well as more than 1 million visitors to the region. The series will include events and activations all around the state, in addition to coinciding with planned celebrations for America’s 250th birthday.
And this year will offer a bit of a trial run. The inaugural FIFA Club World Cup 2025 takes place this summer, which features the top soccer clubs in the world taking part in a World Cup-style tournament. MetLife Stadium will host nine games, including the Final on July 13.
As NJBIZ has reported, a number of efforts and events are happening in the lead-up to help businesses learn about how to maximize the economic benefit of hosting an event of this magnitude.
Mdest25! is a perfect example of that.
The event will feature three panels with experts and stakeholders on several areas of interest, including:
NJBIZ will be on the scene at Mdest25! – with further coverage to come.
