Cava, a popular Mediterranean fast-casual chain, is adding another spot in New Jersey.
Located at Midstate Mall in East Brunswick, the 3,600-square-foot eatery is scheduled to begin welcoming customers Jan. 31.
Known for salads, grain bowls and pita wraps that can be customized with proteins, toppings, veggies, dressings and dips, the Washington, D.C.-based fast casual is considered the Mediterranean version of Chipotle.
The chain’s footprint of more than 370 locations nationwide includes nine restaurants in New Jersey: Bridgewater, Edgewater, Secaucus, Jersey City, Lawrenceville, Moorestown, Paramus, Ramsey and Wayne.
According to a Cava spokesperson, additional spots are coming soon to the area, including one in Union during the first quarter of 2025.
To celebrate its arrival in East Brunswick, Cava will host a Jan. 30 community day, giving free lunch and dinner to guests who sign up in advance here. As part of the offer, attendees will receive one free bowl or pita from 10:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. or between 5-7:30 p.m.
Cava will also accept and match donations up to $1,000 in support of Food Rescue US. The nonprofit is dedicated to eliminating hunger and food waste.
Following its grand opening, Cava in East Brunswick will be open 10:45 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
At Midstate Mall on Route 18, Cava joins a lineup that includes Starbucks, ShopRite, Best Buy, PetSmart, Best Buy, Ross Dress for Less and Floor & Décor.
