The recent release of the sixth apartment building at in brings the residential component of the project to completion.

Prism Capital Partners announced the milestone at 100 S. Washington Ave. in Aug. 30. Since launching last December, the community’s first five apartment buildings have hit lease-up — with the latest well on its way, according to the Nutley-based developer.

The redevelopment project has transformed the site – the former Art Color Industrial facility – into a mixed-use, transit-oriented development, located across from the town’s NJ Transit rail station.

The 252 one- and two-bedroom residences at The Nell feature 9-foot ceilings, open layouts, luxury plank flooring, chef-inspired kitchens and spa-like bathrooms. Community conveniences include: garage parking, smart lock entry, in home washer and dryers, a secured package room and indoor bike storage. The living experience is rounded out by amenities like its clubhouse, which offers a fitness center, yoga room, resident lounge and community kitchen; and outdoor options, such as a resort-style pool, landscaped courtyard, barbeques, firepit, and a bar with televisions and lounge seating.

“The Nell’s success reflects ongoing demand for multifamily in dynamic downtowns, as well as the wonderful sense of community that is developing here,” Senior Vice President Robert Fourniadis said in a statement.

Beyond residential units, The Nell includes 130 for-sale townhomes developed by K. Hovnanian Homes of Matawan and a free-standing retail building. Blue Foundry Bank and Kessler physical therapy are currently prepping for fall openings there, according to Prism, while the remaining space is suited for uses including an independent coffeehouse, restaurant or convenience store.

“We continue to receive rave reviews on the quality of the homes and amenity spaces from residents and prospective residents alike,” Fourniadis  added. “The time is right for people interested in The Nell to make a move – before it’s too late.”

A team from the The Marketing Directors – featuring Shanice Coull, Leo Loyo and Jamie Case – serves as the onsite leasing team for the community. In a statement, Prism Principal Partner Edwin Cohen praised their worked.

“They have crafted and executed a leasing program that has delivered incredible results in a truly impressive timeframe,” he said, adding that The Nell anticipates hitting full occupancy this fall.

Prism’s other current multifamily projects include Avenue & Green in Woodbridge, home to LeGrand Coffee House; the high-end reimagining of the Wonder Bread factory in Hoboken, Wonder Lofts; and Edison Lofts in West Orange.
