Massachusetts-based multistate operator Sanctuary Cannabis is launching its first medicinal dispensary in New Jersey.

Following its Dec. 21 grand opening, the storefront at 2581 Route 22 in Scotch Plains is offering several promotions, including discounts for first-time customers, senior citizens, veterans, individuals with Medicaid or Social Security, pediatric patients and those who are employed in the medical cannabis industry.

Open 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, Sanctuary provides a range of high-quality cannabis products – including flower, edibles, concentrates, pre-rolls, tinctures and topicals – to patients with qualifying medical conditions.

Also known as Sanctuary Medicinals, the vertically integrated cannabis company already has an established presence in Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Florida.

After receiving a medicinal license from the New Jersey Cannabis Regulatory Commission in 2021, Sanctuary was recently awarded a provisional retail license for recreational cannabis sales.

Sanctuary’s arrival comes about two months after A21 Wellness Dispensary opened the first legal cannabis shop in Scotch Plains. Located less than a half mile away from Sanctuary, A21 is an independently owned and operated recreational dispensary selling premium strains, edibles and concentrates.
