After three months under the leadership of interim President and CEO Thomas Thees, the Visiting Nurses Association Health Group named Dr. Steven Landers the new head of the organization, effective in June.
Landers is director of the Center for Home Care and Community Rehabilitation and Post-Acute Operations for the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. He received his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, and a master’s in public health from Johns Hopkins University.
“As a nationally recognized leader in home and community-based health care delivery, Dr. Steven Landers is the ideal person to write the next great chapter in the story of the VNA Health Group,” said Denise Devine, vice chair of the organization’s board of trustees, and a member of the search committee.
VNA Health Group is the parent organization of five regional visiting nurse associations covering 12 counties. Previous President and CEO Mary Ann Christopher departed the organization at the beginning of the year, after 29 years with VNA Health Group, to take the role of president and CEO of the Visiting Nurse Service of New York.
