After making the move to Mercer County in May, NJ Biopharmaceuticals LLC is more than doubling the footprint of its laboratory and headquarters.

On Dec. 2, NJ Bio said it increased the size of its Princeton headquarters at 350 Carter Road from 35,000 square feet to approximately 79,000 square feet.

NJ Bio is a provider of chemistry and biopharmaceutical services, specializing in bioconjugation, custom synthesis, flow chemistry and process development.

“On behalf of NJ Bio employees and the board of directors, I am excited to announce the achievement of this significant milestone in our journey to providing expanded services and resources to support our clients’ clinical study programs,” said President and Chief Executive Officer Nareshkumar Jain in an announcement of the expansion. “NJ Bio was granted the Best Contract Research Provider Award at the 8th World ADC Awards in October 2021 for being an outstanding partner to our clients, delivering high value for their research and development needs. Now, we aim to become an even more integrated partner to deliver on their clinical programs.”

According to the company, the expansion marks a step forward in its transition from Contract Research Provider to a Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization.

“We are laser-focused on setting up our state-of-the-art GMP manufacturing suites to become operational in 2022,” Jain added. “This expansion will enable us to manufacture GMP grade payload-linkers, drug candidates, and antibody-drug conjugates for phase 1 – 3 clinical studies for our clients.”

As demand, and urgency, grows for clinical assets in the field, the company said it will soon be able to support the development and GMP manufacturing of Antibody Drug Conjugates.

And, NJ Bio’s footprint isn’t the only thing that’s growing. According to the company, it is hiring synthetic organic, bioconjugation and oligonucleotide chemists, as well as analytical and QA/QC personnel.

NJ Bio will still continue to operate its Bristol, Pa. facility, and says it has plans to expand GMP manufacturing capabilities there, as well.
