The basics:

  • New Jersey gaming revenue reaches $600.8M in April, up 12% YOY
  • Atlantic City post strongest April in-person gaming results since 2012
  • revenue climbs to $263.1M, topping casino win for the eighth straight month.
  • Sportsbooks generated $102.1M in revenue from $934.2 million in wagers during April

New Jersey’s gaming industry posted another strong month in April, with casinos, online operators and sportsbooks combining to generate more than $600 million in revenue as all three major gaming segments reporting double-digit growth.

According to figures released May 15 by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement, total gaming revenue reached $600.8 million in April, up 12% from a year ago. Casino win totaled $235.6 million (up 11.7%), marking Atlantic City’s strongest April for in-person gaming since 2012. Internet gaming revenue reached $263.1 million (up 11.9%), while sports wagering revenue added another $102.1 million (up 12.8%). Sportsbooks handled $934.2 million in bets during the month.

The top-performing Atlantic City operators by casino win in April were:

  • – $67 million up 14.5%
  • Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City – $45.3 million up 9.1%
  • Ocean Casino Resort – $36.6 million up 19.5%

Stockton University LIGHT faculty director Jane Bokunewicz said the results reflected continued strength across both in-person and online gaming.

“Atlantic City’s casino operators and their partners saw strong gross gaming revenue returns in April 2026, realizing a greater than 11% increase year-over-year for both brick-and-mortar AND online revenue streams,” said Bokunewicz. “While internet gaming continued to exceed traditional casino operations for total revenue share, slots, table and other games put up their strongest April revenue numbers since 2022.”

Maintaining momentum

Bokunewicz said the industry now faces the challenge of maintaining that momentum through the summer amid growing regional competition.

“Amid persistent headwinds, including the recent opening of live table games at Resorts World New York City, it will be interesting to see if Atlantic City’s gaming industry will be able to carry this growth into the summer tourism season,” said Bokunewicz. “With visitors returning to take advantage of the city’s many amenities, the second annual Soar & Shore Airshow later this month and the resort’s potential as a destination for those enjoying the FIFA World Cup festivities, there certainly will be a lot to look forward to this summer and reasons to hope that the season’s challenges will be balanced by opportunities.”

New Jersey Casino Control Commission Chairman James Plousis said April marked the highest monthly gaming revenue total for the month in more than a decade.

“New Jersey’s total gaming revenue achieved its highest April figure in over a decade, with double-digit growth in all three segments,” said Plousis. “Internet gaming win continued its strong performance in 2026 – it recorded its third-best monthly result on record, eclipsed in-person casino win for eight consecutive months, and surpassed $1 billion faster than all prior years.”

Plousis also noted that Atlantic City’s traditional casino business posted its best in-person April performance since 2012.

“Each casino-hotel reported growth in either slot machine win or table game win, with five operators reporting growth in both categories,” said Plousis. “Year-to-date, casino win is on its best pace in 14 years due to a double-digit increase in table game win and a modest increase in slot machine win.”
