The New Jersey Department of Treasury announced Jan. 29 a new combined application for Garden State seniors to apply for three state property tax relief programs: Senior Freeze, ANCHOR and the upcoming StayNJ.
Seniors age 65 or older and disabled homeowners or mobile homeowners are eligible to use the new PAS-1 combined application. The form fulfills a requirement of the StayNJ Act that calls for a singled combined application for the three programs.
The Treasury’s Division of Taxation expects to send out the new application to over 1 million households across the state by early March.
Key features/details include:
State Treasurer Elizabeth Maher Muoio said this new one-stop application will make it simpler for residents to apply for their entitled property tax benefits.
“We’re pleased to offer this convenience to New Jersey’s senior and disabled community first, as many are already familiar with the ‘blue book’ formerly used for Senior Freeze,” said Muoio. “I applaud the Division of Taxation and Division of Revenue and Enterprise Services for their diligent efforts to make this modernization a reality.”
The deadline to complete the combined application is Oct. 31, 2025. It will be available to file online here.
