New Jersey Innovation Institute () revealed Jan. 7 its latest -related initiative.

On the heels of a successful rollout of its AI Lab, NJII announced the launch of a new division, its fifth – Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.

The effort aims to help organizations across the Garden State bridge the gap between cutting-edge technology and how businesses can best implement it.

Tom Villani leads the new Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning segment for NJII, which is a corporation of New Jersey Institute of Technology. The division will feature a public-facing “AI Job Shop” – the first in New Jersey. The shop will work closely with businesses to develop specifically tailored AI solutions. According to NJII, this approach will allow these organizations to leverage the latest technologies — without requiring in-house expertise or extensive resources.

“With the rapid progress in AI tools, many businesses, especially small ones, struggle to understand how to apply AI to improve efficiency and solve problems,” said Villani. “Our mission is to provide expert guidance and services to help organizations seamlessly integrate AI solutions into their operations and stay ahead of the competition.”

NJII notes its unique relationship with NJIT as well as access to its world-class resources and renowned faculty. That also allows the division to provide unique and valuable internship opportunities for students.
