Rajiv Parikh

On the heels of being named Lawyer of the Year by the South Asian Bar Association of New Jersey, a group for which he previously served as president, Parikh was promoted to a leadership role on Genova Burns’ management committee in 2022, where he is a partner.

The well-known litigator has previously served as general counsel to the New Jersey Democratic Party and worked on campaigns for high-profile politicians, including U.S. Sen. Cory Booker; U.S. Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg; and U.S. Reps. Bonnie Watson Coleman, Josh Gottheimer and Mikie Sherrill. His name is also associated with Gov. Phil Murphy, having served as part of the transition team. Parikh has worked closely with the governor and his team on various issues affecting the state.

At Genova Burns, he chairs the India Law, Construction Law & Litigation, and Election Law & Litigation practices; is co-chair of the Crisis Management Practice and Hotels & Restaurants Industry Group; and a member of the Complex Commercial Litigation, Cannabis Law, Government Relations, Intellectual Property, Labor Law and other Practice groups.

When Genova Burns revealed its new leadership structure at the start of last year, it characterized the opportunity as a reflection of its commitment to diversity and inclusion as well as a transitional point for the next generation of attorneys to take on management duties.

At the time, Genova Burns said Parikh would bring his talent of perfecting organizational intricacies to the structure of the firm. For his part, Parikh said he was excited to help the Newark firm evolve. “Having developed my legal career with the firm, I am eager to help grow and lead Genova Burns as we move into the future while continuing our ability to provide our clients with business intelligence and top tier legal services in the region,” he said.
