During a March 19 ribbon cutting, Kenvue embarked on its next era at its new global in Summit. The event brought together company leaders and team members as well as officials, lawmakers and other key stakeholders, including Gov. Phil Murphy, to officially mark ‘s move from Skillman to Union County.

“Some of you likely remember being here a little less than a year ago when we broke on this very building,” said Russ Dyer, chief corporate affairs officer for Kenvue. “And we are thrilled to welcome everyone back for the official unveiling of our global headquarters.”

Kenvue, a Johnson & Johnson spinoff, is the world’s largest pure-play consumer health company by revenue – boasting a slew of iconic brands under its company flag; and a 135-year heritage here in the great Garden State.

“Our brands like Listerine, Neutrogena, Tylenol and Johnson’s have been helping people take care of themselves and their loved ones for generations,” said Dyer. “Today’s celebration marks an exciting new beginning, not only for our global headquarters – but for the millions of consumers we reach every day. Our thoughtfully designed campus is the embodiment of the Kenvue story – built for innovation, bringing together our iconic brands and our talented people under one roof. Allowing us to collaborate, ideate and drive growth like never before.

“It’s also a statement of our commitment to the State of New Jersey – the place we’ve called home since the beginning.”

The Summit facility measures 290,000 square feet, including a 100,000-square-foot extension for a state-of-the-art Science and Innovation Lab, and is LEED Gold certified.

The Insights Lab, a high-tech, multiroom experience, is designed to transform how Kenvue develops, tests and showcases products. The Virtual Experience Room immerses users in a 270-degree digital retail environment, allowing real-time feedback on in-store execution. The Design Lab brings human-centered design to life through advanced 3D and 2D modeling.

And in the middle of it all, the Company Store offers a best-in-class shopping experience, which can turn every Kenvue staffer into a brand ambassador.

‘A historic day’

“It’s a historic day for our company,” said Kenvue CEO Thibaut Mongon, as team members watched the event, held in the central artery of the , known as Main Street. “On behalf of the 22,000 Kenvuers around the world, we are really honored to be part of this community – and proud to maintain our roots in the State of New Jersey, where many of our iconic brands were born. For some of them, more than a century ago. So, to all our Kenvuers here and around the world – let me officially welcome you to our new home.”

“The governor was telling me on his way here – ‘I can’t believe you made it happen so quickly,’” Mongon noted. “When we decide to do something at Kenvue in New Jersey – we make it happen. Opening a global headquarters here in Summit is a symbol of our commitment to this community; to consumer health; and to innovation in New Jersey. And more broadly, to the health and well-being of consumers globally.

“So, I can announce that as of today – Summit, New Jersey, is now the center of the world for the largest pureplay consumer company in the world,” Mongon declared. “For the very first time in our history, we are bringing seven sites together from all around the U.S. – and we have all segments and teams under one roof.”

Mongon said the company is confident that having everyone in one place will accelerate insights, innovation and how AI is leveraged – which will increase the speed of decision-making. “Ultimately, driving growth and allowing us to serve more consumers around the world,” said Mongon. He noted that the campus will bring together customers, leaders, top scientists and industry talent. “Hundreds of innovative and brilliant scientists will collaborate with brilliant Kenvuers across all disciplines – marketing, design, tech and data, finance, legal, operations, communications and more to help more people around the world realize the extraordinary power of everyday care.”

The Kenvue CEO said that the Science and Innovation Lab was slated to open next year. “This is just phase one,” he said. “We look forward to welcoming you back in 2026 for phase two – when we open on that part of the campus, our 100,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art Science and Innovation Lab.”

“I said to my colleagues earlier, I have never been associated with an 11-month span between a groundbreaking and cutting ribbon,” said Murphy as he opened his remarks. “It’s just extraordinary.”

Murphy stressed how New Jersey prides itself on being the state of innovation.

“That’s been our legacy and history since the beginning of time,” said Murphy, pointing to Kenvue’s deep heritage in the state from its Johnson & Johnson roots. “You go way back in this state. I need not tell you your role and significance in building that reputation as a state of innovation. So, I’m incredibly honored to be with you today. I’m looking forward to coming back when you open up magnificent green space.”

As the governor scanned around the pristine buildings along Main Street – with the Kenvuers gathered in attendance – he noted that this is a team sport.

“You don’t get to a day like today without everybody rowing that boat together,” said Murphy. “You could have gone anywhere. And you chose to stay in New Jersey – to come to the extraordinary community of Summit, but to stay in the great Garden State. We wear that as an incredible badge of honor. And you’re not just staying here – you’re growing here and consolidating into New Jersey. So, this is as good a win-win-win as I’ve ever been around.”

Mayor Dr. Elizabeth Fagan welcomed Kenvue to her city. “On behalf of our community, I want to extend my warmest congratulations to Thibaut and the entire leadership team at Kenvue for reaching this historic milestone,” said Fagan. “I also want to offer a heartfelt welcome to all of employees here today – and those who will soon join us. Whether you’re new to Summit or you’ve been a part of our community for a while, we are thrilled to have you here.”

Fagan emphasized that Summit has long been a hub for talent and community spirit. “And your decision to establish your headquarters here reaffirms what we already knew. This is a place where our businesses can grow, employees can thrive, and innovation can flourish,” said Fagan. “Kenvue is already making a difference by partnering with local organizations like GRACE and Bridges Outreach, which further strengthens our community and highlights the company’s commitment to giving back.”

As she closed her remarks, Fagan, a medical doctor, cited her more than two decades practicing family medicine. “This event holds special meaning for me. Health care is about more than treating illnesses. It’s about prevention, education, good breath” – alluding to previous Listerine references – “and empowering people to live their best lives. Knowing that Kenvue will make a difference in the lives of people around the world from right here in Summit. We think it’s the center of the world too – by the way. It really is truly special.”

During a gaggle with reporters following the ribbon cutting, Caroline Tillett, chief scientific officer for Kenvue, said that while the integration into Summit is still very new – there is a lot of excitement about the move into this new headquarters.

“You feel the magic of the vibe of being together – and being in a community,” said Tillett about bringing Kenvuers all under one roof. “So, we’re creating a community at Kenvue. But then we’re also creating a community being part of Summit – and being part of the great State of New Jersey, as well, which is where our heritage is.”
