Boonton-based Our Home is continuing to grow its portfolio of wholesome snacks.

The company announced the acquisition of Hoboken-headquartered Hain Celestial’s ParmCrisps – a high-protein, low-carb cheese crisps brand – in a Sept. 3 press release. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The move comes less than a month after Our Home purchased Campbell Soup Co.’s Pop Secret popcorn business.

Our Home’s other brands include Popchips, Food Should Taste Good, Real Food From The Ground Up and You Need This.

Hain has owned ParmCrisps since 2021, when it acquired That’s How We Roll for $259 million. Under the terms of that deal, Hain also took control of Thinsters cookie brand, which it sold off to J&J Snack Foods Corp. in Mount Laurel earlier this year.

In a Sept. 3 statement, Hain’s president and chief executive officer Wendy Davidson said divesting ParmCrisps will enable the company to continue prioritizing “driving market reach and category scale of our core better-for-you brands.”

“This transaction further simplifies our better-for-you portfolio and streamlines our supply chain for operational efficiency and margin expansion,” she said.

Hain – the parent company of brands including Celestial Seasonings tea, Garden of Eatin’ snacks, Terra Chips and Garden Veggies Snacks – embarked on a multiyear transformation plan in 2023 shortly after relocating from Long Island to Hudson County.

Under the strategy, Hain seeks to redesign its operating model by driving growth in five core platforms (snacks, baby & kids, beverages, meal prep and personal care) across five key regions (the U.S., Canada, U.K., Ireland and Western Europe). Moving forward, the company has said it will continue to look for other opportunities for optimization, as well as to align its footprint in those geographic areas.

According to Hain, proceeds from the sale of ParmCrisps will be used to pay down company debt.

A cheesy move

For six-year-old Our Home, the purchase is part of a larger effort to accelerate growth.

Other moves in recent months include acquiring R.W. Garcia chips and Good Health savory sacks from Utz Brands. That $182.5 million all-cash deal also included three manufacturing facilities in North Carolina, Nevada and Pennsylvania.

In April, Our Home purchased two Utz-owned production plants in Pennsylvania and Massachusetts for $18.5 million.

The following month, Our Home acquired Sonoma Creamery, a cheese and snack producer based in California’s famed wine country. In addition, Our Home gained a production facility and warehouse from Sonoma Creamery, bringing its total manufacturing footprint to eight sites nationwide.

Besides scaling Our Home’s existing platform and footprint across the country, the company said the acquisition expands its ability to provide high-quality snacks at great value to consumers.

Additionally, the company said the sale “bolsters Our Home’s cheese crisps offerings and combines complementary manufacturing, innovation and distribution capabilities following this year’s acquisition of Sonoma Creamery.”

Aaron Greenwald, founder and chief executive officer of Our Home, commented, “We are very excited to have the ParmCrisps manufacturing family join our team. The combination of our Sonoma Creamery and ParmCrisps talent will drive tremendous IP and knowledge sharing, benefitting both brands, our retail partners and most importantly, our consumers.”
