A collection of your photos from the fun, fruitful, charitable, honorable and miscellaneous happenings in the New Jersey business community.

  • Ramapo College of New Jersey welcomed New Jersey Secretary of Higher Education Brian Bridges April 4 to see the expansion of the WeCare Food Pantry on campus. Earlier this year, and thanks to the support of Bridges, Ramapo was awarded a $51,000 Hunger-Free Campus Grant by the State of New Jersey. The food pantry provides assistance to students who experience food insecurity, which continues to be a growing concern on campuses nationwide. From left, Patrick O’Connor ‘80, director of government relations; Cindy Jebb, president; Rick Brown, director of the Center for Student Involvement; Jay Greer and Diana Seugling, students and We Care interns; Edward Seavers, associate director of the Center for Student Involvement; and Bridges.
  • New Jersey City University and its Professional Security Studies Department, in coordination with the Federal Emergency Management Agency, co-hosted the Region 2 Higher Education Roundtable addressing the Future of Emergency Management March 28 in the Gothic Lounge in Hepburn Hall. Marvin Walker, acting dean of the College of Professional Studies, was among the speakers representing NJCU. External presenters included the St. John’s Emergency Management/Homeland Security Lab, FEMA Recovery Division and local offices of emergency management, and leaders from Microsoft Disaster Response and Twinstate Technologies.
  • Hackensack Meridian Old Bridge Medical Center’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU) recently announced it was awarded the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN) Silver Beacon Award for Excellence. The designation recognizes unit caregivers who successfully improve patient outcomes and align practices with AACN’s six Healthy Work Environment Standards. Units that achieve this three-year, three-level award with a gold, silver or bronze designation meet national criteria consistent with Magnet Recognition, the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award and the National Quality Healthcare Award.
  • Inroads To Opportunities, a Union County-based nonprofit human services agency that provides programs and services to individuals with disabilities, celebrated National Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month during a March 21 event at the group’s main campus in Roselle. Co-sponsored by the Greater Westfield Area Chamber of Commerce, the celebration honored a multitude of community leaders with Certificates of Appreciation. In attendance were Roselle Fire Chief Eric Pearson, Roselle Police Chief Williams, Union County Commissioner Sergio Grenados, Union County Surrogate Chris Hudak, Roselle Mayor Donald Shaw and Linden Mayor Derek Armstead.
  • Clinton-based Unity Bank recently donated $25,000 to America’s Grow-a-Row (AGAR) as the lead sponsor of the Pittstown nonprofit organization’s 2023 Farm to Fork Volunteer Sponsorship program, supporting the activities of 10,000 volunteers. Unity employees also volunteer several times a year at AGAR’s four Hunterdon County farms.<br />

  • Jefferson Washington Township nurse Virginia “Ginny” Rossi was recently honored with the Project Heart NICU Award for 2022 – just one of 10 nurses nationwide to receive this distinction. A Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) nurse for 44 years, Rossi, a resident of Westampton, was honored for her courage, passion and dedication to improving outcomes for NICU babies and their families. An employee at the Jefferson Washington Township NICU since 1994, she was nominated by a family whose child was a Jefferson – NJ NICU patient. The Project NICU “Night for Babies” Gala was held March 18 at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio. Proceeds from the event support NICU families across the U.S.
