The Garden State Wine Growers Association (GSWGA) is kicking off its annual week-long celebration of winemaking and grape growing.
Scheduled to run Nov. 13-19, New Jersey Wine Week will showcase the rapid growth and success of the state’s $323 million wine industry, which includes more than 60 wineries and vineyards spanning from Sussex County to Cape May.
A full list of all local winery events – which include in-person tastings and specials on dry wine bundles – can be found on the Garden State Wine Growers’ website. Attendees are also encouraged to capture their winery visits with a “Cheers to New Jersey wine!” video and posting on social media using the hashtag #CheersNJWine #2023NJWineWeek
In a statement, GSWGA Executive Director Devon Perry said, “We invite you to raise your glass in support of New Jersey growers and winemakers. Join us in savoring and supporting local farms and businesses as part of this exciting week-long celebration.”
As the fastest-growing segment of agriculture in the state, New Jersey’s wine industry is a major magnet for tourism, generating 272,500 tourist visits and $92.48 million in annual tourism expenditures benefiting local economies and tax bases, according to an analysis by the National Association of American Wineries.
For 2023 New Jersey Wine Week, the Garden State Wine Growers Association is supported in part by grant funding from the New Jersey Division of Travel and Tourism and New Jersey Department of Agriculture.
