Fresh off a year of growth in South Jersey, popular chicken finger chain Raising Cane’s is eyeing expansion in other regions of the state.

Scheduled to open Feb. 3 at 643 Route 46 in Fairfield, the upcoming eatery will be the fast-casual brand’s debut site in North Jersey.

Opening-day festivities include a 9:05 a.m. ribbon cutting ceremony, drawing for 20 customers to win free food for a year and a check presentation to the Community FoodBank of New Jersey. Raising Cane’s will also give branded trucker hats and a free box combo card valid on a future visit for the first 100 box combos purchased in restaurant.

In Fairfield, Raising Cane’s built a 3,300-square-foot drive-thru restaurant at the site of a former Houlihan’s.

Chicken crosses the country

Founded in 1996, Raising Cane’s serves chicken fingers, crinkle-cut fries, Texas toast, coleslaw and signature “Cane’s Sauce.” With more than 900 locations nationwide, the Louisiana-based chain is considered one of the fastest-growing restaurant brands in the U.S.

By the end of the decade, the company expects to have over 1,600 restaurants across the country.

Since opening its first New Jersey location last year in Burlington, Raising Cane’s has added outposts in Washington Township, Marlton, Cherry Hill, Deptford and Glassboro. In December, the brand pushed into Central Jersey with a location at Edison Crossroads shopping center in Edison.

After Edison and Fairfield, the chain expects to unveil its first Jersey Shore spot by late 2026 at Brick Plaza in Brick.

According to Levin Management, Raising Cane’s is also slated to join the tenant mix at the newly redeveloped Blue Star Shopping Center in Watchung.
