New Jersey’s biggest “Shark Tank” success story, Scrub Daddy, is teaming up with Dunkin‘ on a limited-edition sponge that’s perfect for scrubbing away doughnut crumbs and iced coffee spills.
The doughnut-shaped sponges were released ahead of National Doughnut Day June 7. They “make household chores a bit more cheerful” by blending “Dunkin’s playful spirit with Scrub Daddy‘s practical effectiveness.”
The pack, which includes one Scrub Daddy and one dual-sided Scrub Mommy, retails for $9.98 on the Scrub Daddy website. Besides being scratch-free and dishwater safe, the product’s “doughnut hole” makes it a great tool for cleaning long-handled utensils, according to the description.
Dunkin’ said its collaboration with the Pennsauken-based brand began as a witty back-and-forth between the two on social media that evolved into a full-on partnership.
“With their fun and innovative approach on social media, Scrub Daddy seamlessly complements Dunkin’s playful spirit. Together, they bring a smile to your face during everyday routines,” a news release from Dunkin’ said.
Dunkin’ is also giving away a free classic doughnut with the purchase of any drink while supplies last June 7.
Founded in 2012, Scrub Daddy became known for its high-performance, smiley-faced, scratch-free cleaning sponge made from patented texture changing FlexTexture material. The company has grown to offer a full line of 160-plus innovative cleaning tools. Options include: a dual sided Scrub Mommy and Sponge Daddy, Barbeque Daddy, Scour Daddy and the Soap Daddy soap dispensing system.
Most major retailers carry Scrub Daddy products, including Target, Walmart, Tesco, Amazon, Lowe’s, Kroger and Safeway/Albertson’s. The brand is considered one of the most successful companies in “Shark Tank” history.
Since its October 2012 appearance, Scrub Daddy has sold more than 25 million sponges. It current has a valuation of over $220 million.
Last year, Scrub Daddy announced a partnership with Englewood Cliffs-based Unilever USA household cleaning products brand Cif. The collaborators aim to develop co-branded products and grow internationally.
