Jefferson is at work expanding the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center in Cherry Hill, most recently debuting a new oncology suite at the location.

A was held last month to celebrate the opening of the $9 million project.

The cancer center opened in January 2022. The facility is part of the NCI-designated Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at Jefferson.

The new, larger medical oncology suite includes 20 infusion chairs and 10 examination rooms. Other services provided within the space include:

  • Blood draws
  • Clinical trials office
  • Patient navigation services
  • Social Work
  • Genetic counseling
  • Nutrition counseling

The suite offers a wide range of cancer services from one location.

Next up at the cancer center, a new radiation oncology suite will debut this fall, according to Jefferson. The system said plans for 2025 include a new surgical oncology suite, located adjacent to the medical oncology space.

Jefferson also operates the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center – Washington Township in Sewell.

In December, the Philadelphia-based academic health care system signed a Letter of Intent to combine with Lehigh Valley Health Network. On May 15, the parties announced signing a definitive agreement. Closing is expected later this summer.

Jefferson has three hospitals in New Jersey – Jefferson Cherry Hill Hospital in Cherry Hill, Jefferson Stratford Hospital in Stratford and Jefferson Washington Township Hospital in Turnersville. Across its Garden State footprint of outpatient facilities, practices and rehab and imaging centers, it operates in Cape May Court House, Pennington, Mercerville, Egg Harbor Township, Woodbury, Sewell, Freehold, Marlton, Cherry Hill, Delran, Haddonfield, Turnersville, Pennsauken, Stratford, Voorhees, West Berlin, West Deptford and Salem.
