Luxury online consignment retailer The RealReal is making its brick-and-mortar debut in New Jersey.
Located at 20 Beechwood Road in Summit, the 3,000-square-foot store features a constantly refreshed selection of authenticated luxury goods to ensure a “unique shopping experience with every visit,” the brand said.
It also offers:
Launched in 2011 as a digital-native consignor, The RealReal aims to provide a safe and reliable platform for consumers to buy and sell luxury items. The San Francisco-based company seeks to make the process as easy as possible for sellers. It handles authenticating, determining optimal pricing, photographing and listing items, as well as shipping and customer service.
The opening in Summit comes as The RealReal continues to focus on growing its physical presence as a way to enhance the overall business model and customer experience.
After opening its first permanent location in 2017 in New York City, the company has gone on to add stores in cities such as Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, Miami, Palm Beach and Palo Alto.
Commenting on the launch in New Jersey, The RealReal Chief Merchandising Officer Samatha McCandless says, “We’ve been running pop-up events here for years and have built an incredible community of consignors and luxury shoppers. Given the demand, it only made sense to put down roots with a permanent store — a new way for us to connect and grow in the Northeast.”
As a nod to New Jersey’s legacy in textiles and embroidery, The RealReal partnered with textile artist Kiva Motnyk of Thompson Street Studio to create a one-of-a-kind installation that celebrates craftsmanship and artistry. The space also includes a curated mix of vintage furniture, art and décor.
The store is open Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Sundays 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
