asked workers across the country to share feedback on their employers to determine the winners of the Top Workplaces USA awards.

Released March 20 and co-sponsored by Energage, the recognition was based on employee feedback only.

Workers were asked questions such as whether they were fairly valued (including questions about benefits, pay, work-life flexibility); respected and supported; enabled to grow; engaged; and more. Employees answered on a scale of “strongly disagree” to “neutral” to “strongly agree.”

More than 39,000 U.S. companies were invited to participate, of which 2,251 took part and 1,526 ultimately were recognized.

The firms were broken into four categories based on the number of employees: 2,500 and more; 1,000-2,499; 500 to 999; and fewer than 499.

Based on the surveys, Energage ranked the top 100 employers in each category. The remaining honorees “that meet the Top Workplaces threshold” were listed alphabetically.

“A Top Workplace award brings a company’s culture to the national stage and it helps them differentiate themselves in a fiercely competitive market space,” Eric Rubino, Energage CEO, told USA Today. “It’s an honor for the workforce and an effective tool to attract the right talent to an organization.”
