Valley Health System is the latest New Jersey provider to offer care for patients in the comfort of their own home.
In partnership with Inbound Health, the Paramus-based network announced June 23 it expects to launch a Hospital at Home program later this summer.
“Valley is pleased to partner with Inbound Health to bring hospital-level care to our patients where they feel most comfortable – at home,” Dr. Robert Brenner, president and CEO of Valley Health System, said in a statement. “This program reflects our strategic commitment to making care more flexible, personal, and compassionate.”
Patients in the Hospital at Home program will receive:
To qualify for the program, patients will first visit The Valley Hospital. There, the staff will assess their medical condition and home safety protocols. The team will then determine whether the patient qualifies for, as well as make a referral to, Valley’s Hospital at Home program.
The program will employ Inbound’s virtual and in-market care teams, technology, logistics and clinical protocols, according to Valley.
“We’re proud to partner with Valley Health System to bring this transformative model to life in the northern New Jersey region – expanding patient choice, driving innovation, and supporting providers as they evolve to meet the future of care,” said Dave Kerwar, CEO of Inbound Health.
In September 2023, New Jersey passed the Hospital at Home Act. The law allowed the Department of Health to establish a program for health care networks to provide acute care services outside a hospital’s licensed facility and within a private residence.
Other Garden State health networks that offer Hospital at Home programs include Virtua Health, Hackensack Meridian Health and Holy Name Medical Center, among others.
“With Hospital at Home, we are extending the trusted care our community expects from Valley beyond the hospital’s walls, offering safe, high-quality services where they’re needed most,” Brenner added.
