As part of an aggressive expansion effort across the Northeast, Wonder plans to launch six more of its upscale dining halls in New Jersey this summer.
Following a May 29 scheduled grand opening at 2050 Route 70 in Cherry Hill, the company’s next planned sites include:
Featuring a collection of acclaimed chefs and eateries, Wonder allows customers to order from dozens of restaurants at once. Everything is made-to-order at a Wonder storefront and delivered within 30 minutes. Pick-up and limited dine-in options are available, too.
Featured menus include: Limesalt, Tejas Barbecue, Fred’s Meat & Bread, Yasas by Michael Symon, Streetbird by Marcus Samuelsson, Burger Baby, Wing Trip, Alanza Pizza, Room for Dessert, Alanza, Detroit Brick Pizza Co., Royal Greens, Hanu Poke, Di Fara Pizza, Bellies (kids), Bobby Flay Steak, The Mainstay by Marc Murphy, Walnut Lane and Maydan.
Founded in 2018 by billionaire entrepreneur Marc Lore, Wonder originally revolved around mobile kitchens that prepared chef-designed meals outside of customers’ homes. In January 2023, the company began to focus on physical locations featuring options from restaurants it has licensing deals with.
Wonder now has 47 spots across New York, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Connecticut and Pennsylvania. Locally, Wonder has locations in Westfield, Hoboken, Springfield, Midland Park, Cresskill, Ledgewood, Teterboro, New Providence, Livingston, Parsippany, Randolph, Green Brook and Middletown.
In order to reach its goal of 90 locations by the end of 2025, Lore recently said he expects to open one outpost per week for the remainder of the year.
Of the $1.85 billion in capital Wonder has received from investors since its 2018 launch, it raised $1.5 billion in the past year alone. The company – which has its R&D facility in Parsippany – is reportedly valued at more than $7 billion.
To support its growth, Wonder made several key acquisitions. Deals include adding meal kit provider Blue Apron for $103 million and on-demand delivery platform Grubhub for $650 million.
